Saturday Dec 1 – Travel day.
Goodbye winter!! The Ogburn’s say farewell to Colorado today. It’s sad to miss some skiing (with incredible early season snow this year!!!)….but an adventure awaits us in warmer climates. It’s been a whirlwind week. The kids are excited. I think I’m still in denial that we weren’t just packing for a week…but rather 3-4 months. The reality will sink in soon as the comforts of home become a distant memory! We will be living on a small 39’ sailboat. We pick her up in Indiantown, Florida and hope to sail to the Bahamas. More to come! Goodbye Colorado friends – we already miss you!

Sunday-day 1 of adventure….not in paradise yet!!
Mike spent the day in the hot humid heat inside a tyvek suit sanding and painting the hull while boat is on the hard.
Emma and Henry had fun at dads house in pool and enjoying ocean and beach while lorraine and I madly started the food shopping for 3 months of provisions…
…..then we discovered midday that Emma had a fever and was in fact a very sick girl!! My productivity decreased at that point needless to say.
This morning shows some improvement….fingers crossed she gets better and no one else gets sick!!

Monday-Day 2 . Seriously…is it only day 2? Feels like a marathon recently but somehow we are still standing!
Emma….is in good spirits but does have both inner ear infection and strep. She did manage to play mini golf after the doctor visit….so as I said…she’s in good spirits!
Provisioning!! My big task. 5 stores and 7 carts of food. No cardboard can be taken on board so we had a “cardboard throwing out party” this afternoon. The kids opened 40+ boxes of cereal/crackers etc – labeled the bags, flattened the cardboard for recycling. Check out the carts photo-henry has the actual “food” cart and Emma’s cart is entirely the GARBAGE that is produced from the packaging on food we buy. Crazy!!!
The kids and I are all packed up to leave dads house at 7am. Off to join mike on the boat. Hopefully he’s done with all the greasy messy projects! We splash at 9am!! Exciting day ahead.
